Precision Signals: Episode 2, Michelle Longmire, MD
A conversation on science, risk-taking, and the discipline of innovation
I’m pleased to share the second episode of Precision Signals. I sat down with Dr. Michelle Longmire, physician-scientist, technologist, and founder of Medable, for a wide-ranging conversation about science, entrepreneurship, and the future of clinical trials.
Michelle’s story begins in Los Alamos, where scientific exploration was woven into her family life. That foundation carried her through medical training, dermatology research at Stanford, and ultimately into building Medable—a company that now supports clinical trials in more than 60 countries and 120 languages.
In our discussion, we trace her path from dirt bike racing and Division I soccer to launching a global platform to transform clinical trials and how therapies reach patients. Michelle talks about risk, resilience, and the discipline it takes to lead change inside a highly regulated system. We also explore how AI, not as disruption but as disciplined orchestration, can rebuild the brittle infrastructure of clinical research and accelerate the development of meaningful therapies for patients.
Precision Signals is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon, and more.
